Jim joined the Air Force after school then spent three years in Germany
as an Air Policeman. He was discharged in 1968, was married in 1969, and had a
baby girl in 1971. He spent four years in an apprenticeship as a Tool & Diemaker
at Backus Co. He was divorced in 1980, but remarried in 1985, and gained a
step-daughter (18). He adopted a 1 1/2 year-old girl in 1994. He has two grandchildren.
Retired in 2000 after 31 years at Backus Co. due to health reasons.
