SAHS ACTIVITIES:

• Helped organize and start the first Girls Basketball Team for SAHS
• Art Club
• Honor Society
• Painted many, many posters and murals for SAHS
• Class Play: Caught in the Villain's Web (Cris was Felicity Fair, the persecuted herione, Jonathan Gallup was a wonderful villain named Cyril Bothingwell and Jim Gustafson was Malvern Larkfield the hero)
• 1972 Yearbook Co-Editor with Janine Rugh
• Pep Club

Like others, I believe, I received a quality education at SAHS. Now as a teacher of teachers, I often reflect back on the teachers who taught me. Their legacy is inspiring: Mrs. Hergenrother, Mr. Bailey, Mr. Trulick, Mrs. Hudak, Mr. Vandall, Miss Rockerfeller, Miss Colegrove, Mrs. Lombard, Mrs. Hardes, Mrs. Anderson, Miss Lovins, Miss Johnson, Mr. Valenti, Mr. Nolen, Mrs. Defilipi, Miss Barton, Mr. Vesber, Mr. Danielson, Mr. Shirey, Mr. Greenert, and Mrs. Feit.

Fond memories include:

• Having a locker next to Beth Griffin's locker throughout junior and senior high
• Walking to and from school
• Summer swimming practices and swim meets
• Driving around in the teal blue VW Beetle named Herkimur
• Football games down the hill across the road from our home in the old stadium
• The old swinging bridges
• Hiking the hill to Devil's Den
• Fishing and canoeing
• Staying up late painting (I still do that!)
