Smethport High Alumni:

Hi, my name is Kurt Glarner. I am the son of Robert Glarner of Warren, PA who taught history at Smethport High during the early 1950’s. The reason for this request is I am hoping to reach out to any and all of my fathers’ past students at Smethport High in attempt to send my father a little get well card or a late birthday card (on May 4th he turned 82) or simply a nice letter to him. He was so fond of Smethport that it’s all he talks about. In fact, I believe he attended the Class of 1953's 50th Reunion in 2003.

So please, pass this on to anyone who had the honor of being one of my dad’s students and send him a card or letter. I know he would LOVE to hear from his former students and tell him how much he was appreciated. His mind is sharp and clear, but the cancer is starting to take a toll.

My father married Nancy Lewis who also taught at Smethport High during the same time period. My mother and father taught in the Warren County School District from 1958 to their retirement in 1987. My father actually became a Guidance Counselor in 1966 at Eisenhower High after attending the University of Wyoming for his Masters degree in 1965.
