Track is the existing sport each spring at Smethport Area High School. If you have seen the track team practicing in the early spring, through rain, wind and snow, you will realize what dedicated athletes these boys are. Conditioning starts during the late winter with weight lifting and other exercises for conscientious athletes.

Although the 1967 team was, on a whole, a young and inexperienced team, only winning three meets, Coach Strabel is looking forward to a much better and more experienced team for 1968 with the needed leadership coming from this year's seniors:
